The Piramal Prize 2010 concluded on 4th of December with ‘GVK – EMRI 108 Emergency Services’ and ‘Forus Healthcare – 3 Nethra’ winning the prize of Rs 10 lakh each for ‘Established organizations and Emerging Category’ respectively.
Piramal Prize 2010 was organized as a partnership between Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad and Ajay G. Piramal Foundation. The award recognized high-impact, scalable business models that propose innovative solutions which directly or indirectly address India's healthcare crisis.
GVK – EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute 108 Emergency Services)
Launched on 15th August 2005, it runs emergency ambulance services in 9 states, planning to expand to 11 states. It is a pro-poor, Public Private Not-for-Profit Partnership to Provide Emergency Response Services at Rupees ne/Citizen/Month. As of now, it has covered 372 M population in 9 States, with 2600 ambulances and 38,574 trained people.
It was selected as a winner because of the organization’s already demonstrated capability to scale up operations to its current level in a span of just 5 years. Having seen complete cycles of ups and downs since its inception, it has given a proof of sustainability and robustness of organizational structure to operate the services even with changes in ownerships.
Forus Health – 3 Nethra
Started by experienced technologists in January 2010 with a vision to address Health crisis of developing world through innovative products and solutions combined with innovation in deployment in an inclusive environment, their product 3Nethra - ‘Prescreening at doorstep’ aims to detect needless blindness at very early stage. Also, it is a single, portable, intelligent eye pre-screening device which can take the image of the eye and with built in image processing algorithm can sort the eye images. This single machine can detect diseases like Cataract, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retina, Refraction & Cornea problems. They were chosen because of very strong, capable leadership team and advisory board, who come with right kind of experience. The product has undergone rounds of technical refinement, has received very positive response from users and is capable to address the health care burden with respect to eye care.

Ceon participated in one of the Largest Education Fair- Bett-ME Exhibition at Abu Dhabi
The Bett- ME exhibition was organized by EMAP London in Abu Dhabi on 21st and 22nd November 2010 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition centre (ADNEC). The Bett-Middle East Exhibition is one of the largest exhibitions for the education sector. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Abu Dhabi education council and ministers. There were visitors from various countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Brazil, Lebanon etc. Ceon got a huge exposure and visibility and has generated interest from business partners across the globe. The 45 minute seminar on Multiple Intelligence was conducted by Abhay,the promoter of ceon in UAE. Microsoft, HP, Sungard , Britannica etc were some of the Big Multinationals present in the exhibition. Many B2B partnerships and solution integration opportunities were explored at the BETT-ME Exhibition.
