CIIE has joined hands with The Economic Times and the Government of India for ‘The Power of Ideas’ initiative – a unique national campaign to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. The Power of Ideas is expected to be the largest such initiative ever anywhere in the world.

The Power of Ideas initiative was launched by The Economic Times in 2009 with the aim of providing a platform to groom and nurture entrepreneurs by connecting them with relevant mentors and investors – helping aspiring entrepreneurs convert their idea and start-up into a viable business. The program in its first year attracted over 12,500 business ideas across sectors.

This year, CIIE has become a partner for The Power of Ideas 2010 to build an inclusive ecosystem comprising of various stakeholders - academic institutes, mentors, angels and incubators across the country. Our ultimate goal is to help guide future entrepreneurs towards making their ideas a viable business, through mentoring and seed-funding provided by the ecosystem we are creating.

Mentore Edge

"MentorEdge : Next series of Mentoring Clinics"

MentorEdge was born out of the need to help entrepreneurs who couldn’t be incubated at CIIE because of its focus on Innovative Technology driven Incubation and thus cater to the larger ecosystem.

Mentoredge has now spread across 8 cities [Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore] all over India. Each city has its set of Evangelists who co-ordinate locally with participants. The objective to equip each city with its set of expert mentors who will be supporting the MentorEdge initiative by being available to guide the mentee entrepreneurs with their knowledge and expertise.

Mentoring Clinics are a common platform where the Mentors and the budding entrepreneurs come together. The aim is to facilitate and connect Entrepreneurs with the Mentors over a 45 minute slot, which is pre allotted before the event. Prior to the event the mentees are instructed to view the mentor profiles on the website and select which mentors they want to connect with. To ensure that right people, with similar work domains and interests meet each other there is a rigorous curation process carried out at the backend by CIIE team once the selections are confirmed. The event lasts about half a day, where dedicated slots are assigned for mentees and mentors to meet. The mentees are sent preparatory material to ensure they come prepared with the project / ideas and make optimum use of the 45 minute slots allotted to them with their chosen mentor. We intend to organize the event such that the mentee is benefited by meeting at 3 – 4 mentors on the day.

Mentoring clinics are meant to be first hand interactions where we introduce the 2 parties and encourage them to carry this relationship forward as per mutual agreement between them. The intention of Mentoring clinics is to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem across the country, where participants are benefited by the collective pool of intelligence.

Entrepreneurs interested in being a part of the clinic can visit our website for further details [http://mentoredge.com] and register as a Mentee, marking the city where you wish to attend the clinic as your preference.

Please feel free to mail us on mentoredge@ciieindia.org if you would like to connect with the team. Please use the following format as subject for the mail : Interested in Mentoring Clinic (city)
