Anveshan - Start Up Program
Introduction
Given the various levels of technological advancement and entrepreneurial skills in the country, the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship has initiated the Anveshan-Start-Up Program that is designed to provide appropriate to the level of business and technology development for those who wish to commercialize a tech based innovation.
Considering the individual innovators' objectives and priorities at different levels, The Anveshan-Start-Up Program takes into account a comprehensive framework that will be adaptable to the needs of respective innovators. Activities and deliverables will be designed as modular components of the program.
So if you have are willing to create an enterprise around your hi-tech and mass impact innovation, then you can apply for the Anveshan Start-Up Program.
Incubation through Anveshan Start up Program
The best innovations geared towards developing into commercial enterprises are given incubation support. These incubatees are decided by an eminent panel of judges comprising of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, scientists, academicians and technical experts.
The incubatee signs an MOU that will define the financial stake, service fee, funding and revenue stream on a case-to-case basis. You will have a mentoring team, ready infrastructure at IIMA and also with external agencies likeresearch labs, design centers, etc. and a support system of agencies such as VCs, legal, HR.
The Anveshan- Start up Program Process
- Scouting for Innovation
- Applications received either online or by post
- Selection of Innovators, IP evaluation and signing NDA (Non Disclosure Agreements)
- Screening by a panel of judges in multiple elimination rounds.
- If short-listed, invited for an interaction and presentation before judges, VCs, technical experts, entrepreneurs for final selection.
- Service and shareholder agreement with incubatees, whatever is applicable
- Infrastructure and services to selected incubates will be provided like video conferencing,
- Initiating mentor programme.
- Providing access to technology and related networks
- Commercialization Activity - formation of an enterprise, business plan, market research, consultancy, legal, finance and other support
- Graduation of the incubatee
Criteria for Incubation
- The applicant team should ideally have developed a prototype or running model for their innovation and not a mere idea. This innovation should have a mass-impact and be in any high-tech area including biotech, nanotech, energy, pharma, electronics etc.
- The team should be geared towards formation of an enterprise.
- The team would need to register a company prior to or within two months of signing the MoU for joining the incubator.
- Any IPR developed/used during incubation would be transfered to CIIE for the period of incubation. This would act as a collateral for support provided by CIIE.
